Anything Goes w/ SweetStamps

Hello my sweet, sweet bloggers-
Hope you had an excellent weekend.  Sure does go by fast, eh?!?!
Well this weeks challenge at SweetStamps is:
ANYTHING GOES
Yes, you heard me….ANYTHING GOES.
So I knew that I had to step out of my card making zone for this challenge and I really hope you like it.
Here it is:
SS#66
I have been wanting to try this for such a long time and I am so glad that I had the chance to, because I love the way it turned out!!  Yes, I will be doing this again.
It's a candle...Fresh Linen scented too, LOL!!
I stamped SweetStamps with Memento  Rich Cocoa, colored with my Copics and then trimmed.  Once trimmed, I placed the colored image on the candle.  I then place an overlapping piece of parchment paper of the image and candle and heat with heat gun.
Do NOT hold the heat gun in one place, keep moving it in a circular motion, until you see the tissue under the parchment paper turn shiny.

I decorated the bottom with pearls and bling, to give it style.

Masculine Birthday

Good morning!!
Can you believe that it's Thursday already?!?!
I sure can;'t..

Well today we have a new challenge over at CropStop.
This weeks challenge is:
Masculine Birthday's

Now having all boys in my household, you would think that this would be an easy challenge for me.
HA....You guessed wrong.
I struggle with masculine cards like I do Clean and simple cards.

So..I had to turn to my Cameo for some help!!  LOL
Yes, I cheated a little, but I really needed the help this week.
The base and the stars were all cut out using my Cameo.
I used Tim Holtz Core-Dinations paper and Glitz: Vintage Blue paper to put this card together.
I also used PTI Wonderful Words stamp/die for the sentiment.

There you have it, my Masculine Birthday card.
I can't wait to see what you come up with this week, because I am always looking for ideas and inspiration.  Sure do hope you'll join us.

CropStop #70: Animal or Animal Print

Good morning!!
I hope that you are having a roar kind of day!!!
I know I am....I'm waking up to the neighbors hammer, drill and potty mouth, which is not starting my day off on the right foot!!!

Speaking of roaring....
This weeks challenge at CropStop is:
Animals or Animal Print

So  let me show you my card sample:
I love how the card came out!!!
When I saw  "ANIMALS" was our theme, I was a bit lost, because
I didn't really have "ANIMAL" stamps!!  And bugs, frogs...critters don't count.
Then BAM.....
I remembered I had this awesome stamp from  Animal Spirit Stamps: Jaguar
Which I received from one of the workshops I attended while at CHA in January.
I stamped the image on Canvas Stick back paper...several times.
I first colored directly with my Copic markers, but the ink started to run!!
Then I had to think and dig deep...
I found my Claudine Hellmuth mini acrylic paints and colored the image with
two of the lightest colors in the mini acrylic set.
I loved the look, but the colors weren't bold enough for me...so the next day, I had the idea of coloring over the paint with my Copics.  Guess what???
IT WORKED!!!!
I only colored the printed spots on the body, just make him pop a little, because I wanted t=you to still see the paint on the rest of the body.
Once I had the image colored and cut, I went to work in creating the card.
Using Spellbinders Grand Label 11 and distress inks to creating the background.

I hope that you will join us this week and show us your wild side!! LOL!!

Parchment Crafting w/ SweetStamps

Hi blogging buddies-
What a week  this has been!
I will  spare you the details for another day and another time!!
Right now,  I want to get into today's challenge over at SweetStamps.

This weeks challenge is:
Parchment Crafting
Now, this was FUN!!!
I must be honest here and tell you....
I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY liked working with my Parchment Kit.
Stacey also has a few videos that you can watch for you
Here is my sample card:

I stamped my butterfly image on the vellum and embossed with pearl embossing powder.
I then flipped the vellum over and colored the image with my Copic markers.  I had to have a steady hand to do this, since the lines and space between are very small.
Once I finished, I then rubbed the empty space on my grid to give it the dotty look you see.

It was fun to do and I know that my card is nothing compared to what the Senior design team has to show you this week.
Their cards are STUNNING and I think that you should visit them this week, to see just what i am talking about!!!

Embossing w/ CropStop

Good morning-
Happy Thursday to all of you out there reading this blog this morning!!

Today at CropStop, we have what I consider to be my favorite technique challenge!!!
This weeks challenge is all about:
EMBOSSING

I love this technique because the possibilities are endless!!!
I know that when I started out making cards, I didn't have a Cuttlebug or even knew what embossing folders were for that matter.  I did however, have a stylus and lots of vellum!! LOL
Anyways, like I said....the possibilities with embossing are endless as are the supplies available today.  So my sample card today, I used heat embossing and dry embossing.

Here is my sample card:
CalypsoCS#69
I think you can see the dry embossing a little better in this picture.
I rubbed a little distress ink over the top, so that you could see the patterns a little better.
CalypsoCS#69a
This is an angle shot of the thick clear embossing coat on the top of the butterfly image.
